What we do
Calcuma is a growing collection of free fitness calculators. We started with step conversions — steps to miles, kilometers, distance and calories — and a step-goal tool, with more on the way. The goal is simple: take the numbers your tracker gives you and turn them into something you can actually use.
Why we're different
Most quick converters online use a single fixed average and call it a day. The trouble is that a step is not the same length for everyone — height, in particular, changes it a lot. Our tools let you add your details (height, weight, pace) so the result reflects you, not a generic stand-in. We also explain the formula behind every tool and cite our sources, because you should be able to see how a number was reached.
Our approach to accuracy
Every calculation here is based on established formulas — the same stride-length and energy-expenditure methods used by researchers and fitness organizations — and the conversion logic is covered by automated tests so the math stays correct. Where the science is nuanced, we say so rather than pretending a single number is the whole story.
